Design and print

Context

My experience as a designer and manager for print production meant that I became the artworker for all printed items such as brochures, reports and banners produced by our university department.

Prosper Values resource cards

Dr Curie Scott asked me to design and artwork sets of 67 Values cards and journal covers, to be digitally printed in time for an imminent series of workshops.

It was an challenging exercise to satisfy the branding requirements of the University of Southampton and Prosper in addition to Dr Scott’s sign off within the print production deadline.

I created the cards in Adobe Illustrator. It required a very close working relationship with our printers to ensure these were set up right first time (they asked for them to be laid out 3×3 as press-ready PDFs) and they forswore their usual lead times to meet our target date.

Feedback

‘This is such a good resource’

Neil Ford (National Teaching Fellow) Centre for Higher Education Practice

The values cards were very well received and after Dr Scott promoted them on LinkedIn, and sent out a few sets to interested academics, we fulfilled a request to make the artwork available for download from part of Prosper’s own resource site.
