Blender Mastered

Jed is currently developing Blender skills with Mastered.

This is a record of some of the work: our first task was to create a snowman using the basic primitives of sphere, cube, cone and cylinder. The arms are extruded cubes, I added some random rock/coal shapes from an add-on we were encouraged to install, and a background image and lights. I also experimented with materials to make the gold hat band more metallic than the velvet hat.

Next up is an animation experiment using the classic bouncing ball. Using the graph editor to hone the timings, the Z-graph view mirrors the arcs of the ball.

I have left the robot task unfinished for now as the priority is to create the major project diorama. This will also provide marketing images as my project doubles as a saleable item: a wooden stockade fort I am calling ‘Fort Generica’ and which will attempt to span a couple of millenia of brutal fighting. If you don’t want to wake up dead in the morning, better build a palisade fort to keep the hostiles out. This holds true for Saxons, Vikings, peasants, colonists and even D&D orcs.

I hope to provide a product that appeals to miniature gamers for many of the different eras and splintered game systems and so provide a large ‘sales funnel’ for my 3D download files plus printed and optionally painted sections of fort. These will be modular to create everything from small military outposts, trading posts, farms and settlements all the way up to large forts. Details of the Kickstarter and a free sample file on Thingiverse and Cults3D to follow in December 2025.
